Label Printing — Complete Guide
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
This article covers everything about label management in Takumo Pro — what is on the label, how to print, reprint, and troubleshoot printing issues.
What is on a Takumo Label
Each label printed by Takumo Pro contains all the information required by the carrier and replaces all paper waybill forms. The label includes:
● Sender information — hotel name, address, phone, pickup date
● Recipient information — guest name, destination address, phone
● Tracking barcode — scanned by the carrier at collection and at every transit point
● QR code — links to the Takumo tracking page for the guest
● Booking reference number
● Size band and item count
● Carrier branding — the label meets the carrier's official format requirements
For multi-item bookings, a separate label is printed for each item. The label shows 1/2, 2/2 etc. to indicate item number within the booking.
Printing a Label
Labels print automatically when you click Submit on Step 6 of the booking flow. The print job is sent to your connected SATO printer. The label emerges from the front of the printer ready to attach to the luggage.
If your printer is not responding at the point of submission, Takumo Pro queues the print job and retries when the printer comes back online. You can also manually trigger the print from the booking detail screen.
Reprinting a Label
Open the booking from the Active Bookings screen. Click the Actions menu (three dots) and select Reprint Label. The label prints immediately. There is no limit to the number of times you can reprint a label.
⚠ IMPORTANT If you reprint a label because the original was damaged, ensure the damaged label is removed from the luggage before attaching the new one. Multiple labels on one item can cause scanning errors at the carrier. |
Attaching the Label
● Remove the backing paper from the label
● Attach to a flat, visible surface on the luggage — top or side, away from handles and wheels
● Press firmly to ensure full adhesion
● For soft-sided bags, use the provided label pouch if included in your hardware kit — slide the label inside and attach the pouch to the bag handle
● For ski equipment and golf bags, attach to the bag's main handle or strap
